OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY
we started stainless baby with a simple purpose: to streamline the process of purchasing non-toxic and eco-friendly baby & child products from a source you can trust.
parents are increasingly sophisticated these days. we know more about phthalates, parabens, bisphenol a (bpa), etc than we should have to and are increasingly learning of the detrimental health effects of these chemicals on our little ones. unlike plastics and other similar alternatives, high quality 304 18/8 stainless steel products provide an assurance that no external chemicals will leach into your child's food or drink. it's why stainless steel is used prominently in everything from spacex rockets to medical instruments. and it's why we chose it as the only material in our products.

OUR FOUNDERS
stainless baby was started by ashish & susmitha, who are blessed to be the parents of two wonderful young daughters. ashish works as the senior climate & energy advisor at piedmont environmental council & susmitha works as a lead digital program manager in the dc metro area. while in law school, ashish studied environmental law, toxicity and intellectual property, subsequently pursued public interest law, worked at a solar company and hoped to one day incorporate those fields into a sustainable business.

in our personal life, like many people, we have experienced loved ones suffering from cancer and other serious diseases and have wondered about the root cause. toxic exposure is a dangerous part of modern life and there is ample scientific evidence that bioaccumulation/lifelong exposure to toxic chemicals plays a significant role in how our bodies operate. the impact on developing brains and bodies is even more so. like many parents, we have pledged to take all possible efforts to decrease our children's exposure to chemicals- from how and what they eat to how they sleep. as we talked with other parents, doctors and experts, we saw that we were not alone in our efforts.

with the overwhelming amount of inexpensive products available online these days, it is easy to pop open your phone and quickly purchase something you need for your child. but it is markedly more difficult to find a company to trust. a face. a philosophy. we started stainless baby to help, in whatever small way, to streamline the conscious parent's desire to do what's best for their little one.
